Review: Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack

IMG_5572

Today I must rave about this product I recently discovered. It’s made out of pig collagen (50% of its content) and at 50,000mg of collagen peptide, it is one of the highest concentration of collagen creams/products around! Collagen is supposedly good for your skin because it makes your skin supple, prevents ageing and helps reduce wrinkles. Which is great for any girl at any age!

Price: SGD $10.86 (USD $8.69) for 100ml delivered from this Korean seller on Q100 (South-East Asia Gmarket equivalent).

A little bit more information about the product for you below…

Pros

  • After using this a couple of times, I can definitely see an improvement. My skin is more hydrated and looks and feels softer. Seriously it’s so soft, like a bouncy spring-back feeling
  • One of the cheapest high concentration collagen creams around and at such a big jar, only a small bit is needed as a cream, and therefore it will last you quite a long time.
  • 6 Free: Free from mineral oil, paraben, ethanol, animal nature oil, artificial pigment, benzopheone.
This is particularly great for sensitive skin: if you are have super sensitive skin like mine, you can use my skin as a yardstick. I break out to most products with silicones, mineral oil, oil etc. This doesn’t break out my skin or clog it up. Hurrayy!
  • Very versatile: can be used as a sleeping pack or 20 minute mask. I read that other bloggers use it as a sleeping pack, even though the instructions say to use it as a 20 minute mask. I personally use it as both, and I think the results are amazing. When I wake up, my skin is still soft and supple. This will protect your skin from drying out in dry or air-conditioned climates.
  • Smells great and is lightly fragranced.

Overall
I can’t think of any cons at the moment, which tells you how much I love it and how you should definitely RUN and get it. I’ll definitely repurchase this. The texture feels like soy bean curd (which curdles) when you scoop it up with the spatula (see above picture). It’s quite fun to play with it. It moisturises the skin so well and makes it look so well rested. Great if you want to give your skin a treat after work/school, because your skin will soak this up like a sponge, bask in its anti-aging/moisturising properties and love you for this!

Review: Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence and Multi Cell Night Repair Ampoule

Review No 1: Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence

I purchased the Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence for AUD$18 delivered (USD$15.30), and the Multi Cell Night Repair Ampoule for AUD$13 (USD$11.05) from a Korean eBay seller. Shipping from Korea to Sydney took 12 business days.

MY SKIN TYPE: combination skin, highly sensitive and breaks out very easily from new products (mineral or silicone based)

Starting Treatment Essence is worth your consideration because:

  • Good reviews, highly raved around the blog-osphere.
  • Free from the 7 nasties. This is particularly helpful if you have sensitive skin or are allergic to the SK-II treatment essence. My skin broke out using SK-II but I’m fine with the cheaper alternative, Secret Key.
  • One of the cheapest galactomyces/pitera/yeast essences around, amongst SK-II, Missha and Tony Moly.

PROS

  • Contains 90% Pitera like SK-II
  • Reasonably priced compared to Missha and SK-II
  • Absorbs fast (very watery texture)
  • My super sensitive skin doesn’t react. Hooray for no alcohol, paraben and mineral oil!
  • No oilliness (great summer skincare staple)
  • Brightening effect
  • Great for layering with other skincare products

CONS

  • Heavy glass bottle.
  • Yeast smell
  • Doesn’t moisturise (need to rely on other products).
  • Must finish within 6 months as it doesn’t contain alcohol and the active ingredients won’t work as well once the bottle is opened. I guess it’s bad news if you are a skincare junkie with tons of products to finish up.
  • Very watery: prone to spillage.

OVERALL

  • 8/10. Definitely buy this and try this once for the pitera content and its price. This doesn’t make your face more oily so it will be great for combination/oily skin during summer. You can easily layer more products on top of this during winter.
  • Will repurchase for the benefits of pitera.
  • Update: Do check out the Elizavecca Galactomyces essence that I reviewed, it’s 100% yeast extract, compared to the Secret Key’s one which is >90%.

Review No 2: Secret Key Multi Cell Night Repair Ampoule

3d8e5737-4182-44fb-a310-cfce73ad1505

Pros

  • Absorbs quickly, face is softer and slightly bouncy in the morning
  • Reasonably priced
  • Free from nasties (especially mineral oil and parabens)
  • Plastic bottle, easy application with pipette.
  • Great to buy if you are young and want to start prevent wrinkles. Buy the expensive stuff when you’re older.

Cons:

  • Highly fragranced
  • Prolonged and consistent usage needed to get results
  • Packaging is tacky: putting instructions in bold on the face of the product? Hmmm.

OVERALL

  • 7.5/10. It’s a great night serum for younger skin  to prevent wrinkles from forming early (<30 years old). But if you’re older, I would recommend the Sulwhasoo Timetreasure range.
  • Not the most effective on my sun spots. I prefer the “Its Skin Power 10 Effectors” and want to try OST Vitamin C serum.
